Reflection #4: Girl

This story give you a lot to think about. We have this person telling to a young girl what and how to do the things, the persona say this the way to wash the cloth, this the way walk, to dress etc. From the way this person talks to the girl we can assume that that person is her mother. The mother in this story it seems that she have a big preoccupation and is that she don’t want her daughter to become a slut. We have to take in consideration the time in which this story was made and the word "slut" could be a woman that dress provocative and seduce men, not necessary this word means a woman ho is paid to have sex. In the story the mother tell the daughter how things are made and how to behave even to men. There are many points of view for this story. One can assume that the mother is a slut and she advertise her daughter so she can not become one. This could be a possibility because why a mother should teach a girl how to make a medicine to abort?, why another would teach how to grab a men's bread or how to beat him. Another possibility could be that maybe the mother is not a slut but she is warning her daughter seriously about thing s in life and teaching how to be a woman who the baker will no let her touch the bread. The third possibility is that maybe the mother is joking but at the same time teaching the daughter good things, because if the mother were too serious or warning her why she did not say things a s they are. Instead of saying bread she could have say penis. Maybe the mother is telling the daughter that there are some things that woman do that society consider inappropriate for a woman , like a girl playing marvels, singing Calixto or having short dresses and maybe the mother is really criticizing those thing in a form of joke.

Reflection #3:The Cask of Amontillado

This story some consider that is a perfect crime, maybe it is, but I can assure you that is not the perfect vengeance. The story begins with Montresor giving us a preview of what he will do for vengeance. The victim will be Fortunato a very rich and powerful who was an expert in wine. Montresor seem to know he’s victim very well and not only knew the passion of Furtunato with wine, he also knew that in that time Fortunato was sick. Montresor also knew that Fortunato had given order that he was going to be out for a while and he did not want anyone to search for him. Montresor seems to be a very malicious and brilliant person, because he used the strong expertise on wine of Fortunato to transformed it in the own weakness of his victim. Montresor and Fortunato met in the middle of carnival, Fortunato was a little drunk, and Montresor managed to deceive him by telling him that he have some wine and that he was going to Luchesi so he can branded. Fortunato reacted immediately and he agrees on doing that himself. They both enter in the catacombs bellow the mansion of Montresor. As they go on because on the niter the sickness of Fortunato was getting worse. At the end Fortunato dies because the aggravating sickness but Montresor instead of being happy he felt sick. Montresor truly have executed a perfect crime, if he did not tell anyone no one could ever find out the crime and fallow the Family’s motto: “No one wound me with impunity”. But it was not a perfect vengeance, and the end Montresor showed signs of repent of what he has done, and maybe he learn that vengeance is not as sweet as it sounds.

Reflection #2: A Good Man is Hard to Find

The short story "A Good Man is Hard to Find" wrote by Flannery O' Connor began with a family that will going to take a vacation, the grandmother want to go to Tennessee to visit some of her connections and her son Bailey want to go went to Florida. The grandmother wants to change her son mind and shows him a newspaper a news of a criminal that escape from a Florida's jail a call himself The Misfit, but Bailey ignore her. Later during the trip they have and accident; after that three man appeared for “help” them, but one man of them was the The Misfit and he commanded to his men to kill the family. The grandmother was the last and she beg to him that do not kill her and to think in Jesus, but anyways the man kills her with three shoots. This story have moral and religious situation. When the grandmother says: “I know you are a good man”, she defines that person like herself are good people, but she is trying to convinces to the Misfit to not kill her, so, she began to said to him that began to pray in Jesus but when she cry out: “Oh Jesus, Jesus” she is not pray for help, is cursing and she really means “do not shoot me”. The Misfit got “pleasure” (he said that in the world is not pleaure), in hurting others because his experience of life had shown how others found enjoyment in hurting him, because everyone has a good and evil in themselves but sometimes we only see one side of them and forget that they have another good side.
